Thank you for coming to my website.

My hope is that we can explore our lives together. Though we often feel alone, we do not walk alone.  We can ask questions: not with the goal of finding definitive answers, but with an attitude of exploration and curiosity.  As we share, we might feel heard in a way that we have not felt before.

Each blog post has a Comment space (to the left). I invite you to share your thoughts and feelings here. It will be interesting to have a dialogue and see where we go with it. Shared resources are always helpful as well.

As an addiction counselor, I am fascinated by the myriad of things humans can become attached to in our quest to feel connected to something besides ourselves. As a poet, I make sense of the world through short sentences strung together. As a human being, I find my balance and stay centered through prayer and meditation. I gain strength and courage from those around me who so generously share their lives with me.

When I use the word recovery here, I am talking about experiences people can  recover from. Including but not limited to, drug addiction, divorce, child abuse, domestic violence, auto accidents, disappointments, health crises, and trauma related incidents. Anything that sets us back and that asks us to re-evaluate ourselves and our lives is something we can recover from. Ultimately, we can recover ourselves as we were created to be.

I invite you to join me as we explore the experiences that come up for us as we live each day.  Welcome to the journey as we walk together.

Blessings,
Mary
